saturday in notting hill

i spent my saturday afternoon wandering the adorable streets of notting hill and kensington. the kensington homes are so grand and gorgeous, while notting hill's are quite colorful and quaint. i also did some shopping on my way. first, through the portobello street market, then some of the shops on westbourne grove.

westbourne grove shops:

202 was my first stop, i've have been waiting months to see it! nicole farhi wanted to create a shopping and dining environment in one, which she has done here in notting hill and also in new york. the first floor is a cafe with outdoor seating and a great menu (especially the desserts). mannequins hold down the fort in the latest of her menswear and womenswear collections at the front of the store. downstairs is a small shop for menswear, womenswear, accessories, and home decor.

whistles is a great little store for classy casual wear. i picked up a black and white sheer animal spot shell and some olive trousers. they had a lot of winter sale items, but they did not have my correct size...

daylesford organic was one of my favorite stops on westbourne grove. it had a lovely selection of produce, baked goods, fresh cheeses, and meat. they also had homemade jams, fresh herbs and spices, and a coffee/tea bar. upstairs is a cafe full of all their fresh, organic ingredients. i picked up some yummy dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, and homemade vanilla fudge (it has adorable packaging). i wish i lived closer so i could have bought some fruit and veggies, too!

ted baker had an amazing sale going on for winter merchandise. i bought a lovely little pair of fingerless gloves with an adorable black embroidered accent. they are so dainty, i love them! i also bought a long grey pleated sweater, which i will be wearing to work this week.

les petites also had a great sale, where i picked up a long cream swing-y top.

florentine + baker is an awesome place for unique leather handbags and shoes. i did not buy anything, but it is a good place to have in mind for the future.

this little restaurant, beach street babylon, looked so cozy and cute. i will have to bring friends back to eat there soon..

i am excited to go back, there are a lot of places i missed!
